Notes on Current work: August 2026

Magic often occurs unexpectedly, bringing forth a mix of chance and control as the painting develops. The true connection between the materials and their application becomes clear when I step back, which is essential for maintaining an element of surprise. I then evaluate what has transpired and respond accordingly. Painting is a reactive dialogue that has evolved through years of exploration and experimentation. Each piece results from the interaction between the artist, the materials used, and the investment in the work. The space and conditions are also crucial factors; it’s a well-tested method refined over time. It tells the tale of an alchemist who carefully measures and combines the right ingredients, then leaves the room to let the magic unfold, whether in darkness or light.
