Shifts in Time: Winter. Personal circumstances and experiences are a resource for work – they guide actions, foster understanding, and inform an approach to painting and drawing that evolves intuitively and organically. I’m creating a series of interconnected stepping stones that lead to a bigger picture. It’s a dynamic that extends to an awareness of the hidden qualities of life around me.
The work explores the tension between chance and control, focusing my attention on detail—from the choice of processes and subjects to the materials I use. My perspective—whether grounded in art practice, exploration, landscape, environment, or a general curiosity about life—remains rooted in personal experience. Ultimately, painting and drawing are the only reliable means I have to make sense of who I am and how I exist in the world.
