The Art Studio 1986-2012

The Art Studio in Sunderland was renowned for pioneering an artist-led initiative that empowered minorities, particularly individuals facing complex mental health and social care issues, as well as those with limited artistic education, to pursue careers as artists. It helped pave the way for similar projects in the region and elsewhere in the UK.
