The drawings create scenarios in which either character may be leading, with the other following. This shifting dynamic of guidance and dependence fosters a sense of trust that I try to convey through each figure.
For me, the story is another chance to imagine who and what we want to be, like envisioning the world we wish for our children and loved ones. At the same time, it acts as a reality check on the world we live in.
I often identify with the camel and the rider. In previous works, I have also identified with other animals when depicting a story. Along the way, there are birds of paradise, tiny elephants, March hares, horses, ponies, and exotic creatures to discover.
