Shifts in Time: Winter 2025. Personal circumstances and experiences are a resource for my work; they guide actions, foster understanding, and inform an approach to painting and drawing that evolves intuitively; I imagine I’m creating a series of interconnected stepping stones that lead to a bigger picture.

The work explores conflicts between chance and control, which focuses my attention on detail – including the choice of applications and subjects, as well as the materials I use. This dynamic extends to the organic nature and purpose of the work as well as the hidden qualities of life around me. My perspective—whether grounded in art practice, exploration, landscape, environment, or curiosity about life itself—remains underpinned by those personal experiences. Ultimately, painting and drawing become the only reliable source that helps me make sense of who or what I am in the world.
