Shifts in Time: Summer 2026, Part 2

Shifts in Time: Summer 2026, Part 2. The subcategory **Shifts in Time** falls under the category **Hidden Kingdoms, Shifting Worlds**. Individual artworks do not have titles, as they are part of a larger collection of paintings organised by category and subcategory.

Painting is an intimate dialogue, a relationship between artist and canvas. When I begin a painting, I carry no assumptions and have little sense of where the path will lead. A body of work becomes an extension of that relationship, like a family in which each painting, with its own identity and characteristics, forms part of a larger whole.

A painting is nurtured by attending to its evolution and development, building on identity and character, much as we do in our own lives. It is an extension of ourselves as individuals and of our need for recognition; painting can never be merely a by-product or regarded simply as a commodity.
